Term Four
Globalisation: A China Perspective
What will we be doing in Term 4?
In Term 4 this year we are combining topics in our Humanities study and exploring the field of Economics and the culture and civilisation of ancient and modern China. Across the term we will learn about the concept of ‘globalisation’ and the important role China has had in it’s development. We will ask, and try to answer, the questions: ”What does globalisation mean?” and “How is China important to a global economy?”
There are many steps to take along the way to understanding this topic. To help every student get the most out of the study, this online unit lays out those steps that need to be taken to complete this learning journey.
Activities and lessons will be conducted in classes as usual, but you will find that there are now online, collaborative, and independent activites that you can do as homework, in class time, or when you have completed the group work. Each activity will be assessed and all activities will attract points that go towards your annual points total on Mr O’s database.
Where do I start?

During this term you will be working in a number of different ways. There are times when you will be required to work quietly and independently, at other times you will work in pairs, and there will also be small group activities and whole class activities. For the small group and paired activities, you are to think about who you work best with as we will be developing specific ’learning groups’ for some of our activities this term. Learning groups and table groups are not necessarily made up with the same members, so you could be working in two separate teams for different activities. If you know who you work best with, you can have some input to the composition of your learning group.
