Note from Dr J….
Hmmm… I see we’ve all fallen a bit behind with our submission dates (by ‘we’ I mean ‘you’) for the previous homework tasks. Please ensure you hand in your workbooks for marking at the soonest opportunity.
Homework Task #3
The next homework item is a 200 word essay explaining what you have learnt about Aboriginal culture in the last lessons.
You’ve had the visit by Murrindindi and our project day last week, the lessons in Humanities and Art classes, plus the visit to the 12canoes website – these should have build a store of knowledge from which you can start your essay.
Write a 200-word essay explaining what you have learnt about Aboriginal culture so far. Complete a rough draft in your workbooks and then proofread, edit, correct the spelling and punctuation and rewrite in your neatest handwriting. Please leave a blank line between each line (double spacing) so I can make corrections to your work.
Homework Task # 2: Chapter 6.2 How Do We Represent the World?
Complete the questions from page 172 of the Humanities textbook (in the blue box).
Questions 1 & 2 can be started once you have covered BOLTSS in class.
Questions 3 & 4 are to be done after you have learned how to draw an overlay map.
In addition, complete the Remember and the Understand questions on page 173.
Latest date for this work to be submitted: Friday 31 July (all grades). Check with your teacher for your accurate due date.
Homework Task #1: Draw a picture of the Twelve Apostles using the grid method you have used in class with the Uluru picture. Increase the scale of the picture by a factor of 2.
Starting Information About Weekly Homework
For geographic studies this term you will be required to undertake a weekly homework task that will be part of your formal assessment for the unit. Term 3 weekly assessment tasks will be posted here on the Homework page. Each grade will have the same tasks to cover during the term, however for the moment, the due date will depend on where your grade is up to with the class work. Check with your grade’s teacher to ensure you have the correct due date – you should record this date in your planner when homework is issued in class.
Any small homework tasks that are issued during the week but not recorded here on the blog, for example completing work not finished in class, will be in addition to these formal assessment tasks.
